Rental Terms and Conditions

Read the Terms & Conditions regarding vehicle rental from our company.

1. Prices Include

Full insurance (F.D.W.) with ZERO EXCESS for groups: (A Mini, B Economy)
Taxes, VAT, and all fees
Vehicle replacement (subject to availability) in case of damage
24-hour roadside assistance
Unlimited mileage
No hidden charges
Payment upon delivery
No deposit required
No credit card needed

2. Required Documents

A valid driving license for all declared drivers
An international driving permit if required (see the section “Driving License” below)
Passport or National ID for all declared drivers
All booking details (online or by phone) must be valid. The company reserves the right to refuse the rental if the booking details are invalid.

Driving License

The driving license must have been issued at least three years before the rental start date.
EU driving licenses are accepted.
Citizens from all other countries must hold a valid international driving permit together with their national driving license.

3. Driver’s Age

The driver must be at least:

23 years old to rent a car

The maximum driver’s age is 70 years for all vehicle categories.

4. Reservations And Vehicle Categories

All reservations are based on vehicle categories, not on specific models. However, if the chosen model becomes unavailable, we reserve the right to offer a similar model within the same category. We may also provide a higher-category vehicle at no extra charge (free upgrade).

5. Rental Duration And Minimum Charge

The minimum rental period is 3 days and the maximum is 30 days.
For rentals exceeding 30 days, please contact us for a personalized offer, as the rental agreement must be renewed every 30 days.
The minimum charge, regardless of duration, is one day.
If the renter wishes to extend the rental, they must notify us at least 2 days before the scheduled return date to request an extension, subject to availability. The extension is valid only after the rental agreement has been updated.

6. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your reservation at any time without any penalty or obligation.

Does not apply to Non refundable Reservations.

7. No-Show Policy

If the renter fails to collect the vehicle on the agreed start date and time without prior written or phone communication, the reservation will be canceled after 2 hours.

8. Late Returns

A delay of up to one (1) hour will not incur an additional charge. Beyond a delay of one (1) hour, the customer will be charged an extra rental day according to our company's pricing policy.

9. Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as upon delivery (“same to same”). If returned with less fuel, the renter will be charged the difference. No refunds are given for returning the vehicle with more fuel.

10. Baby And Child Seats

We provide three types of seats:

Infant seat: Birth–9 kg
Child seat: 9–18 kg
Booster seat: 18–45 kg

Child seats are available upon request and subject to availability. The cost is €4/day for all types.

11. Additional Driver

If more than one driver is needed, the cost is €5 per day per driver.

12. Pets

Pets are not allowed in the vehicle.

13. Cleaning Fee

If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty, a cleaning fee of €30 + VAT will be charged.

14. Car Insurance Coverage

1) Free Full Insurance (FDW)

€0 EXCESS for groups: (A Mini, B Economy)
€300 EXCESS for groups: (C Compact, CD Compact Diesel)
€600 EXCESS for groups: (D Intermediate, N Full Size Diesel)
€900 EXCESS for groups: (ME SUV, E SUV)

Age coverage 23–70.
Applies to all vehicle categories.
With this insurance, the additional amount in case of damage is zero (€0).

Full Damage Waiver (FDW) covers:

Collision damage waiver
Third-party liability (TPI/TPL)
Material damages
Material damages caused by an uninsured vehicle
Fire insurance
Theft insurance
24/7 roadside assistance
24/7 customer Support

FDW does NOT cover damages caused by:

Off-road driving
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Unauthorized drivers
Illegal activities
Underbody damage due to reckless driving
Tire and wheel damage
Transporting the car on ferries without written consent
Interior damage
Broken glass or mirrors
Lost or damaged car keys
Parking negligence
Engine damage due to wrong fuel
Failure to notify the company or police at the time of accident
Traffic law violations (running red lights or stop signs)

In these cases, the renter must compensate Autorental for the full amount of the damage.

2) Premium Full Insurance (SUPER FDW + WUG) With ZERO EXCESS

Age coverage: 23–70 years
Applies to all car categories.
With this insurance, there is no cost in case of damage (0€ excess).

With an additional charge of €5 or €10 (depending on selected car Group) per day, this insurance includes extra WUG coverage.

WUG provides extra coverage for, Wheels and tires (including rims and caps), Underbody damages (oil pan, exhaust system, etc.), Broken glass, mirrors, and windows.

The Premium Full Insurance package (SUPER FDW + WUG) for cars covers:

Collision Damage Waiver
Third-Party Insurance (TPI or TPL)
Material damages
Material damages caused by an uninsured vehicle
Fire insurance
Theft insurance
Roadside Assistance
24/7 customer support
Damage or loss of tires, rims, and hubcaps
Damage to mirrors
Damage to windows and glass
Damage to the underside of the vehicle

Not covered under SUPER FDW + WUG:

Driving outside the recognized and paved road network (off-road)
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Driving by an unauthorized person
Driving for illegal activities
Underbody damage caused by illegal or reckless driving
During loading, unloading, or transporting the vehicle by ship or other means without prior written consent from Autorental
Damage to the vehicle’s interior
Damage or loss of car keys
Engine damage caused by using the wrong fuel
Failure to notify the company or the police at the time of the accident
If the renter causes damage to the rental vehicle while violating Greek Traffic Law (running a red light or stop sign)

In such cases, the renter must compensate Autorental for the full amount of the damage.

Not Covered (for all vehicles)

Damages caused by a driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Damages caused by an unauthorized driver
Damages caused because the vehicle was parked illegally
Damages resulting from violations of traffic laws (running a red light or stop sign)
Damages caused by improper driving, negligence, or intentional actions
Engine damage due to wrong fuel or negligence
Damages caused because the vehicle was used off-road or on unsuitable roads (unpaved roads, dirt roads, beaches, etc.)
Damages occurring after the agreed return time
Damage to mirrors
Damages or loss of tires, rims, or caps
Damage to the underside of the vehicle
Damage or loss of the antenna
Damages caused intentionally or recklessly by the renter (e.g., burning the clutch or tires)
Failure of the renter to notify the company and the police at the time of the accident
Loss of personal belongings
Loss, damage, or theft of vehicle keys
Loss of fuel cap or any accessories
Total or partial theft, in cases where theft occurred due to renter’s negligence (e.g., leaving the engine keys in the vehicle)
Traffic fines or other administrative penalties may arise from any violation of the Greek Traffic Code

15. Fixed Compensation Amounts (Damage/Loss/Necessity)

Car key: standard 250€, special 450€
Child seat: Birth–9 kg and 0–18 kg 125€, Booster 18–36 kg 60€
Aluminum rim for car : 100€/piece
Wheel hubcaps 50€
Car floor mats: 20€/piece
Dirty seats: 30€
Damage to the underside of the car (painting and repair): 350€
Car mirrors: 150€
Car glass: 350€
Interior damage: 100€ to 300€
Punctured car tire: 120€

16. Vehicle Transport Outside The Island

Cars may be transported only with prior notice and a surcharge of €70 per rental (Ferry Insurance). However, the insurance provided does NOT cover ferry travel.

17. Traffic Fines And Penalties

The renter is responsible for paying all traffic fines or administrative penalties incurred during the rental period.
If fines are issued after the rental period, the company will charge the renter’s credit card accordingly.
If license plates are confiscated by authorities, the renter must compensate the company for the total number of days the vehicle remains out of service, calculated using the current daily rental rate.

18. Other Terms

The renter is responsible and obliged to compensate the company for any damages resulting from lack of care (if there is no waiver agreement). The renter must also lock the car properly in a suitable and secure location.

During the rental period, the car may not be used:

In violation of this agreement
To transport passengers or goods for payment
To carry more passengers than allowed by the license
To transport heavy or odorous goods or drugs
To tow another car or trailer
In car races on designated tracks, etc.
Generally, for any purpose contrary to Greek law

19. Vehicle Pick-Up And Return Time Policy

The duration of the daily rental is set at 24 hours.

The rental company is not responsible for the loss or damage of the renter’s personal belongings left in the vehicle.

The rental company reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement without consequences if it deems that the renter is detrimental to the company’s interests, fails to comply with traffic regulations, or violates the terms of the agreement.
